Meetings and Attendance
- The OCCF Youth Council will meet once per month. Meetings will last approximately one hour. A calendar including meeting dates and events will be provided to all members.
- Destany will send out a reminder prior to each meeting or event. Members should respond to this reminder with their attendance status.
- Fifty percent attendance of all meetings and events is expected.
- For the 2026-27 school year, members are expected to accumulate 6 points each semester to be in active, good standing as a Youth Council member. Events and activities not on the calendar will be added through the year.
- Any senior member of Youth Council who does not accumulate the designated amount of points to be considered an active member in good standing will not earn their graduation cords.
- School-sanctioned events (band, sports, etc.) may be excused given prior notification.
- Members are responsible for requesting/collecting all material when absent from a meeting.
Dismissal
- Members who do not meet the attendance guidelines of events, fundraisers, monthly and committee meetings will be at risk for dismissal.
- Youth Council members are expected to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner; inappropriate behavior that would reflect negatively is not acceptable and will be immediate cause for dismissal from the program.
- Suspension or expulsion from school or arrest by an officer of the law is cause for immediate dismissal from the program.
- Members will dress appropriately for all Youth Council functions. If specific dress is required for an event, members will be given advance notice.
- Members who are at-risk for dismissal will be contacted by letter.
Leadership
- The leadership committee consists of YC members representing the three school districts. The leadership committee consists of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and a Public Relations Officer from each school.
- Minutes and facilitation of monthly meetings are the responsibility of the leadership.
- Leadership committee will notify/remind members regarding any changes of meetings, committee meetings, community events, training and fundraisers.
- To hold a leadership office the member must have been in Youth Council a minimum of two years; President MUST have previous officer experience.
